Job Description

PowerGrid Services is looking for retired Foremen, Linemen and Electrical Engineers who possess the skills and capabilities to assess powerline damage after a weather event (i.e, hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storm events, etc.)
• Must have knowledge of the powerline infrastructure and a clear understanding of powerline specifications and utility standards such as REA, municipalities, and Investor owned systems.
• Must be able to prove knowledge of:
o Transformer Banks
o Wire Installation Sizes
o Voltages
o Pole Sizing and Classifications
o Powerline Circuits
• ATTENDANCE – Must be available to work the daily hours as required by the utility’s work schedule, through completion of the restoration work or until released by the utility company.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
• REASONING ABILITY – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES-Additional skills and/or abilities include the following:
o Ability to read and follow distribution circuit maps
o Ability to utilize binoculars, cell phones and two-way radios
o Self-Motivated and Customer Oriented

Other requirements: Must be willing to travel and be available when a weather event occurs and work long hours immediately following an event.
